I've got nobody except you

जिनके राज़ छुपाएं बैठे हैं हम,
वही लोग हमें शर्मसार कर गए।
हर महफ़िल में पेश हुईं कहानी हमारी,
ये जानते हुए भी हम चुप रह गए।

जश्न मनाएं मशहूर होने का या बदनामी का शोक,
इसी असमंजस में दिल आज कल है।
किसी के करीब होने से क्यूं सब कर देते हैं दूर,
सवाल यही हमें घेरे आज कल है।

जब देना था साथ तब नसीहते दे गए,
रोए हम और कुछ लोग मज़ा ले गए,
गुनहगार थे जिनके उन्हे ना था कोई मलाल,
और राह चलते लोग सज़ा दे गए।

आज मेरे दुख मेरे दर्द की कोई सीमा नहीं
जिनको माना था अपना पराए निकले वही
हार कर इस दुनिया से चुनी मैनें तन्हाई
पर शांत कैसे होगी मेरे अंदर की लड़ाई

एक कहानी है सुनाने को, पर कोई सुननेवाला नहीं
खुशकिस्मती से अगर मिले भी तो समझनेवाला नहीं
लगा लेते मौत को भी गले पर कुछ जिम्मेदारियां अभी बाकी हैं
नफरत भरे इस समंदर में क्या इंसानियत कहीं बाकी है

जिस सुकून की तलाश है
उसने ही बनाया ज़िंदा लाश है

Under the moonlight

and let my daunting thoughts subside

I call a friend and realise that everything between us changed

I was celebrating my birthday when I got a news
and was pretty confident, it can't be true.
But it was.
You were gone on the day I was born.
I felt sad but deep down I understand
It's better to stay quiet
than bringing your problems into light
But it's also better to fight, than just give up and die
You could have come home to your father
Who has nothing left hereafter
You could have left those who didn't care
Not the ones who loved to listen
to whatever you had to share

A virus left us aghast
Forced us to live miles apart
We are so close yet so far
living in different states
staying in each other's heart
Under the same sky, moon and star

In my own sorrows and guilt.
In my own lies and sins.
