"Oh You are home?" Good I am going to play at the ground, meet you later,
A woman tired and exhausted,
Struggling with her bags of linen and sweat,
Had returned home,
A day's work?
Funnily, no,
It's just begun.
She still has to run within 15 minutes to prepare her in law's evening tea,
Her legs are tired, walking so much each day,
the smile on her face consistent,
She bears all of her pain with a smile,
Wait, do you think her day's finished?
No, not at all,
It's just begun.
The tiring morning bus journey,
the impending eve teasing,
She's scared, she's worried,
She's bearing it all with a smile on her face,
Monumental work at her office,
Her boss screaming down on her neck,
Why haven't you completed your work,
My child was sick, sir, I had to stay up all night,
Her dried up tears still leave their mark,
Is it all?
No, never,
It's just begun.
Her day's ending as she pounds the dough with her bare hands screaming in pain but a smile on her face,
Her family's dinner,
They all are waiting,
To be fed,
It's quite night when she washes the dishes,
all she thinks of the breakfast next morning,
and how her life is so beautiful.
Happy Women's Day everyone.
