Whether it's an obsession or just love, doesn't really matter. If you truly aspire for something, there is no harm in immersing yourself completely in it, and flowing with it, exploring different undiscovered islands, before finally settling at the undermost. In fact, it is important to touch the bottom if you want to measure the depth of your passion. Besides, love is anyways the best thing to get obsessed with.
