अच्छाई को जलाने बैठा था कोई,
याद है कितनी थी होलिका रोई?
रावन, कंस आदि इकट्ठे ज्वाला बन जाएं जो,
दुनिया पर संकट घिरकर सन आएं तो,
उस जलती आग में भी समझो कहीं विष्णु का निवास होगा,
जूझ रहा है जो जीवन के लिए, उसमें प्रहलाद का विश्वास होगा।
आज फिर जब होली पर श्रद्धा कुछ डगमगाने लगे,
थोड़ा ठहरना जब तक तारे जगमगाने लगे,
आएगी फिर एक दिव्य चुनरी तुम्हारी भी हिफाज़त में,
जीतेगी दुनिया की भी अर्ज़ी अच्छाई की इजाज़त में!

अज्ञान का भान

-

मोह छोड़ दें 'ग़र अरमान की डोर का,
फ़तेह न कर पाएंगे दामन आसमान का,
पर कटने के डर से भी कब पतंग उड़ पाई है,
बेफिक्र होकर ही तो आज़ादी से जुड़ पाई है!

यहाँ डर के मारे फड़फड़ाती है नमी
साँस लेने के ख़याल से भी,
और तुम उनकी सदाबहार गीली पलकों पर
कविताएँ लिखते हो
उन्हें खूबसूरत कहकर!

The days when I'd have swollen eyes after an hour of crying, then I'd sit to read it and find a part of what just happened to me in the story. Then I'd pause and look at it saying, "What kind of magical sorcery is this?!" and it would whisper, echoing the author's soul, "The kind where I show you your kind of wounds and put a smile on your face by twisting the story into a healed and happy ending!!" and then we laugh and accompany each other for hours.

अधूरी छूटी उन बेमतलब बातों को चंद लफ़्ज़ों में महफ़ूज़ रखना,
ग़ैरकानूनन यादों में मर्ज़ी से फिर लौटने तैयार थोड़ी घूस रखना,
शीरीन इस दर्द के असीर बन उसे वाइज़ बनाकर फिरना मत,
ज़िंदगी के गुज़रते कारवाँ के अक्स में ज़िंदा उम्मीद का जुलूस रखना।
