We live in a world where if you break your arm, everyone runs over to sign your cast. But if you tell people you’re depressed, everyone runs the other way…
We are so, so, so accepting of anybody part breaking down other than our brains. And that’s ignorance. That’s pure ignorance. And that ignorance has created a world that doesn’t understand depression, that doesn’t understand mental health.

FIGHTING THE MENTAL DEMON - DEPRESSION
I happened to watch the documentary on the popular singer Amy Winehouse , who died at the young age of 27.She struggled to feel normal all her life. She suffered from mental depression & eating disorder -bulimia (caused due to depression) when she was in her teens. The depression made her prone to substance abuse, soon she turned into an alcoholic & drug addict.A singer at the peak of her success & fame got trapped in her own demons.A drug addict husband /lover made things worse.A precious life was wasted. The mental demons took her life.
Strength.Resilience.Wisdom.These are essential for our sanity. Our mental health is as precious as our physical health. In India as well as globally, talking about mental illness is still a taboo
