You once were a muser, now you yourself are a muse;
You once captured memories,
Now you set my fantasies lose.
You sang me lullabies and read me tales to sleep;
You've been reasons behind my glee;
And also the ones that made me weep.
Time, like a swirling breeze, flew by...
38 months long and counting...
You fell sick, you were short of breath,
my whole world seemed to be daunting.
I remember, I was drunk and drowned,
while I was parched and ground—there
was no one by my side,
When you, with your run-down health,
still clenched my hands and took me
on a magic carpet ride.
You brought me sadness and
blessed me with mirth,
You brought me hatred, and
taught me self-love.
You knew what's what, you had the world
inside you, you could foretell catastrophies;
You made me face it all bare, while, mostly
I took refuge under your cool sombre canopies.
I know you won't be able to stay
forever with me, 'cause everything
has a predestined lifetime,
There were many before you arrived,
there are going to be more after you'd be gone,
but, you bet, you'll forever be my partner prime.
