like a moon,
I shall be the streetlight,

What the streetlight witnessed
----------------------------------------
She looked up faintly to the flickering lights above. Her only companions, the flies hovered above her & the trash cans in the drizzling rain. She closed her eyes & saw him come nearer & pick her up with love. Her mind played their good old memories as a recap. The coldness of the night embraced her food-deprived body. Even as she took in her last breaths, she kept her eyes open in search of him; in futile hopes that the one who disowned her will come back, in hopes that her owner who left her die a street dog will come back. The streetlight closed its eyes unable to look at the dead dog any longer.

सड़क किनारे पलते है कई सपने,
घर बार छोड़ कर रहते हैं कई अपने,
जब भी देखता हु फुटपाथ पे सोता उन्हे,
आंख भर आता हैं, दिल बैठ जाता है,
जो महलों के ऐसों आराम से दूर,
सपने सजाने बैठे हैं अपने घरों से दूर।।

जो कमाने गांव से शहर आए थे,
इस चकाचौध सी दुनिया में,
जहा ना कोई अपना है ना कोई ठिकाना,
ना दो वक्त की रोटी है, ना ही सर पे छत,
क्यूं है ये दुनिया इतनी बेरहम,
क्या नही दिखते किसी को इनके जख्म।।

Some of us
aren't the
envy of the moon;
we don't
scintillate like stars.
Some people
glow like streetlights
-unknown, unnoticed-
and that's enough.

In our socity many Mad and homeless people are living but they have one problem and that is when and where they will eat and who will give them food.

ये रात,ये सन्नाटा, ये सोया जहाँ,
पीछे छूटते रास्ते,वक्त किसको है कहाँ,
यूँ टकराती रौशनी आँखो से,पोल की
जैसे मुझसे आकर हौले से कुछ बोल रही,


"कोई बांध ना पाए,तेज़ बहता पानी
अंधेरे को चीरती ,उम्मीद की कहानी"

धोखा देने वाले लोग
बिल्कुल उस कार चालक जैसे
जो रोक देता है गाड़ी
लाल बत्ती होते ही
60 तक की गिनती को
ताकता रहता है
हरे होने तक...
और आखिर में
वो निकल जाता है चौराहे से
ठीक 5 सेकेंड पहले...
