The hardest thing in life is saying Goodbye. Meeting & parting is an inescapable part of human life, I agree. But, painful goodbye is the one that happens slowly, over time, you make excuses to not talk, you start ignoring the person on one pretext or the other, you avoid meeting for a cup of cofee on the jehlum bank, there are no future plans, you dislike his name being uttered in your presence, you try to unsee his name
popping across the social media, you stop checking on each other and eventually you end up being strangers again but with memories. I never said goodbye, as it means going far away and going far away means forgetting. And how you can you forget a person whose existence is engraved deep in your bones and soul. I don't know when, but I feel, we'll meet again under the chinar tree, someday. Dear friend, moving on with the flow of time isn't a herculean task but what it leaves behind is the heartache for the rest of life which can't be mend, no matter what...
