THE STREET IS REAL
Life was never friendly in the streets.
I tell you,the life is real and messy,
It would look like you’ve got a whole squad,
But everyone is headed for their own goal,anyway.
You shoot your shots,then you shield.
But some kids couldn’t afford to take cover,
Rough streets,destined kids got it tough.
I entered the street sometime to fetch some need,
Then I saw a couple of juveniles smoking.
... no love,no joy.
They coughed at intervals as they puffed off smoke,
Others were sipping a substance from a glass,
They made strange faces as they gulped it down.
I believed that could be a strong rum.
Some had red eyes already and looked hungry,
From afar you could see their neck bones.
Their smiles looked like snares to me,
So I had to hasten my legs up,most times.
The next day I heard few were arrested and detained,
How did the law got informed,I was thinking.
But In the city of jobless fellows making friends,
Snitches are never far fetched,I concluded.
