बंद कमरों में वो चिल्लाके रोता है
वो आंसुओ में रोज़ नहाके रोता है।

दुनियां के सितम से तंग होकर अब,
वो मेरे ख़्वाब में रोज़ आके रोता है।

मौसम की तपिश से क्या होगा उसको,
ग़म से वो अपना ज़िस्म जलाके रोता है।

मैं जब भी बाहों में उसको भर लेता हूँ,
वो तब तब मेरी शर्ट भिगाके रोता है।

वो कहता है के उसको कोई ग़म नही है,
पर सीने में कई राज़ छुपाके रोता है।

मेरी चाहत से ज्यादा भी कोई और है उसका,
वो तकिये को सीने से लगाकर रोता है।

To my daughter the silent 'gh' in night is a mystery
The letters are there but still not there
How do I tell her that this is the history
of all the signs that were there but still not there
for all the nights that were there but still not there.

Everyone is broken,

Everyone is scared,
But still.....
Everyone needs to live!!

Under the dark clouds,

I stood numb holding
my torned soul fearing even
to move. Could see the darkness
engulfing me and I embraced
it with my open arms. The light
which chased me, I saw it merging
with the night and now there lay my body beneath still and unconscious.

और उन किताबों में ना जाने कितने ख्वाब
खामोश रातों पर चाँद का पहरा है
किताबें हैं सच्ची जग बेहरा है
कहानियाँ हैं अच्छी दुनिया तो बस रैन बसेरा है
दिल को समझाती हैं..
बिन कहे अपनी बात कह जातीं हैं
ना रुलाती हैं.. बस दुनिया का पाठ पड़ाती हैं
अपनी सी बनकर ज़िन्दगी भर दोस्ती निभातीं हैं..
