"Nakupenda"he told me
"You are like a shining star in my darkest hours," he kept telling me
I used to follow 'Mama's word that.....
"Men will use you and dump you."
But that look.....
That sincere look in those eyes convinced me and unfortunately, I fell for his trap
He started buying me a chocolate
I was so blindfolded that I didn't see it coming.
He took me out for dinner and made me go home as late as midnight.
He helped me sneak from home and we went to "dundas" and sometimes "concerts" together
Even after all the beatings I got from 'Papa',
I was still on his side
Then, days and weeks passed and there
were no calls! No nothing!
He was nowhere to be found.
I felt lonely, bored and impatient.
Truly, curiosity killed the cat.
I sneaked from him and went to the place we used to meet.
OUCH! At first, I wished I was shot dead
I saw him...with another! On my spot!
Who will I run to?
I was warned but I didn't listen
......"REGRETS"
I wish I knew! But if wishes were horses
beggars would ride
