SNIPPER

Caught in the land of my home
Into the pool of my colour
In the western part of Africa
Here I am
With an abortive hope and dream
When I think to be great
But find myself being betray
When my soul cries in tribulation
In the land of my home
What great calamity is this
For dream of many
Are being destroy at a far range
Targeted by a higher person
In a higher position
Walking round the same perimeter
But not out of the woods
To a place of prosperity
Being in a dictator hand
In a land where democracy has no way
For the dream of every little thing
Is being targeted with a snipper

Nigeria has been beleaguered with a lot problem, among these are lawlessness and disorderliness. Anytime time people discuss the problem of the country, the first point they mention is leadership, but the plain truth is that lawlessness and disorderliness doesn't start from the top but from bottom. It starts from little laws we break and overlook. For example crossing the highway when there is a pedestrian bridge, etc.
If we want reformation in governance, in our armed forces, public sector; we need to reform our society and ourselves. For lawful and orderly leaders, armed forces or civil servants can't be made in a society where disorderliness and lawlessness is the norm.

Chosen

Our pages may have been ripped off
And our pathway becomes rough.
Still, we shall march on
To a land we belong!

With binded lips,
Our courage shall never slip.
From a distance, our voices will be heard out loud,
Even up to the cloud.

On bended knees,
We shall stand tall as tress
We are the embodiment of freedom fighters
Because our lives matter

Sticks and stones may be thrown at us
We only believe in one cause,
"We move forward"
That's how we've been cultured.
We are the chosen!

I’m Nigeria 🇳🇬

What I wasn’t, mine was
Empires, Kingdoms and Chiefdoms.
Distinctively ethnographical, each
Existing on its own.

Mine was resourceful, untapped
In excess. And then, ‘THEY’ barged
Into me, subdued me and even named
Me what I’m today, NIGERIA 🇳🇬.
Exposed to an exploited vulnerability,
Subjugated I was made to become.
A system so humanly-inhuman,
Colonialism in ‘THEIR’ language.

After awhile, being a mother of
Numerous offspring, there stood
From amongst my progeny from
The Southern and Northern parts
To solicit for what ‘THEY’ called...
INDEPENDENCE.

In October 1st 1960, history was
Made. A flag was raised to the sky,
Green and white 🇳🇬, you see it, flapping
In the wind. Free I was set, like a bird in
The sky.

Arise O Compatriots!
Alas, the labour of our HEROES
Past is waning in vain.!
Arise O Compatriots!
A Nigeria we must build,
Where Peace and Unity is not
Only a ‘National Slogan’ but a
Reality.

I’m Nigeria, what ‘THEY’ named
Me, sixty years (60yrs) older I’m
Out of the shackles of COLONIALISM.
But Aye, older I’m, as old as when
‘THEIR’ forefathers we’re living in caves.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIA 🇳🇬.

A national flag in the hands
peaceful protesters is a lethal
weapon against oppression,
tyranny, brutality, corruption
and injustice.
Peaceful protesters should
expect rage, aggression and
intimidation from oppressive
agents. Freedom is not free.

Dear Nigeria,
This momentary turmoil and travails
will soon pass, and peace will prevail.
Weeping may endure for a night,
joy looms, with love and light...

Revolution and restoration can only
be achieved by a generation that
values the principles of integration, aggregation and penetration over
competition and recognition.
