Lying on the ground,
Waiting for OPEN FIRE's sound.
Where I can clearly feel my heartbeat
Though the end of my rifle
But managing breathe to fix the barrel.

Matching the target with the eyes
Giving tough compitition to the shooter
lying on my side.
Keeping in the mind
HOLDING, AIMING , TRIGGER OPERATION
otherwise my bag is Waiting on
INS CHILKA'S station.
My finger was on 2nd pull
And mind said just shoot.!

Butterfly in my stomach,
Waiting for the result.
"Sabaash beta 1.7cm"
"Oh god yes.! This is what I am".

कभी गर्व से फूले न समाती
तो कभी आंसुओं की गंगा बहाती है।
देख कर वर्दी मेरे तन पर
वह बार - बार मेरी नज़र उतारती है।।
एक निवाला और खाले कहकर
पेट भरने पर भी माँ और खिलाती है।
यूँ तो सामने से बातें बड़े हस्ते - मुस्कुराते करती है
पर जानता हू , कि पीछे से वह हर दर्द छिपाती है।।
जब कहता हू आऊंगा लौटकर वापस छुट्टियों मे
बस तभी से माँ खुद मे आशा की लौ जगाती हैं।
मेरी चिट्ठियों को पढ़कर,बारंबार माँ उन्हें सीने से लगाती है
घर के एक कौने मे समेटकर, माँ मेरी हर याद रखती है।।
कैसे कह दूँ कि कमज़ोर है मेरी माँ
वह तो हर मोड़ पर मेरा हौंसला बढ़ाती है।
यूँ तो बहुत सुना है माँ के बलिदान के बारे मे
पर मुझे मेरी माँ,
साधारण से कहीं ज्यादा असाधारण नज़र आती है।।
