Sometimes the lone wolf isnt alone because he enjoys solitude
But because he has trusted many packs in the past and they disappointed him.

We met at a time when there was no cameras and phones were not cheap
At a time when two people couldn't be anymore different
No one knew of our meeting or of the two weeks that were utter bliss and no-one ll know.
I stored the memories deep within the abyss of my heart

Afraid of his scars,
He stayed in the shadow
never joining the others to play.
But to him it was alright,
The shadows felt safe.

I'm not just a poet
I am an artist.
I love painting with words
Twisting them, hardening and softening the edges
Till it sends the picture I desire.

If only love was as strong as hate
Perhaps my stepmother would have spared me one kind glance
Perhaps she would have celebrated my birthdays
Or hug me when I bring my results home

We remember there was a war
We remember a lot of people died
But we don't remember the screams, the fear.
We don't remember the hunger that continued for days or the sounds of gunshots that sent us to the floor.
We have only a half memory of those bitter days.

We were best friends till something changed.
My heart started racing when he was near
And the simple touches felt like electric wires.
When I raced up five stairways to see his face that morning
I knew I was in love.

Know there is a limitation to kindness.
That mercy granted everytime leads to entitlement.
Know that there is grace in mediocrity.

As I turn the pages
I am transported to a world not mine
I eat, dance and chat with people I have never met
I cry and I laugh with them
I am so entuned with the stirrings of the world in my book that I lose the grip of time.

Nowadays I can feel you drifting away
You have got other friends now
We no longer chat like we use to
And the secrets are getting larger
