My mother loves a golden wall
my father chooses white
but our walls are purple-pink
just because I like.

I am, sometimes, a missed punctuation.
The one that alters meanings,
making sense or not.
I am just a space if you think so,
or a meaningful pause if you opine.
Both ways, I just let you be.

Boys will be boys.
Cliché yet not so cliché
when it comes to reality.
It would have been so good, if
'Ladko ka kaam to yahi hain'
would refer to something positive,
rather than regretting another girl
being stripped off dignity
and life.

I never knew what
humans smelled like, if not of
perfumes in bottles
and face creams in tubes,
but I do know,
a perfect kinda love -
that smells like my mother.
Or, a perfect kinda mother -
who smells so much like warmth.
