Have you too grown up with people telling us like boys don't cry or you must sit with your legs crossed if you're a female. I've always wondered why are there so many of these unspoken rules hanging about as I grow up. I've been told because I'm a girl I need to be neat in my handwriting, be quiet and demure.Really why?
Gender stereotypes is one of those topics we don't explicitly talk about in our day to day interactions but we all know it exists around us. Infact, we sometimes make judgements and decisions of people based on gender stereotypes. Gender stereotypes is a generalized view of traits and roles that are ought to be possessed by males and females. Well it may seem innocuous when we hear people make remarks like those I've mentioned. I think we need to stop right there and think again.
Is there really nothing wrong with gender stereotypes in today's society? Can more be done to change some of these stereotypes?
Gender stereotypes could adversely affect the self esteem of a growing child and it's impact will be carried to adulthood. One is constantly bombarded by gender stereotypes from everywhere. From parents to teachers and ofcourse, the media.

Let her roam around freely,
Let's accept him also as a victim sometimes,
Let her also earn independently,
Let him also do household chores
Let her allow to not be shy,
Let him cry openly,
Let her put her choices,
Let him learn to respect her,
Let her to be born in this world
Let him get rid of notions of fake masculinity

Oops! Have I objected gender stereotypes?
Have I tried to break sacred rules?🤭

No violent or abusive behaviour/reaction should be justified on the basis of the person's gender.

Coz Gender can't be a free pass to escape from every disruptive or destructive behaviour.

Everyone blamed her
For giving birth to a girl child.
Was it really her fault ?
Bearing a child in her womb ,
She everytime prayed for the
Child's safety .
But when the child was born ,nobody
Accepted her .
Is it really fair ?
A mother fights with all the pain ,
But whenever she feels her baby
She forgets all her pain .
A mother never thinks about
The gender of the baby but she
Do thinks if the baby is a girl ,
Will she be accepted by the family ?
People kills girl child , but do they ever
Think that they are too born
From a woman only ?
The birth of a girl , never
harms your dignity !!
On one side we worship goddesses ,
And on the other side , we kill girl child.
Is this how we show our devotion ?
Once , just once give appropriate
Chances to a girl , she will prove
It that girls are not behind boys !
