I have seen her walking on eggshells.
Trying to search for a glimpse of
His past self, when all had been fine,
When he really was the person
He portrayed himself to be.
She tries desperately to search for this self of his,
His now lost self. For, all that is left today
Is a shell of the person he had been.
The love, happiness, trust replaced with
An irksome bitterness,
Hurt, pain and betrayal.
