My confession of love for you,
was no more
than you buying your
customary chewing gum
after school,
for you popped it
into your mouth,
and chewed it
till it ran out of flavours,
and then made
a bubble out of it
that burst in no time.
And then, not knowing
what to do with it,
you probably stuck it
under a chair
of a roadside cafe,
to give the waitress
a hard time
or tangled it
in another girl's hair
to pull a cruel prank,
and had a good laugh.

They're just like the gum
you keep chewing on
until you extract all its flavor
yet its aftertaste lingers
on the roof
inside the hollows of your cheeks
under your tongue
And still there's so much left
that can never be swallowed

Burst Bubbles

And there the most beautiful tragedy
Occurred.
An angel saw the devil
Chewing a piece of gum.
The angel asked for a piece,
The devil said no & blew the biggest
Bubble he could.
He hoped it would make the angel
Envious of something she didn't have
but instead,
The bubble burst & got in his hair
Over his lips and on his face.
The devil grew mad, furious that
The gum was tangled in his hair.
& In front of all people, an angel no less.
While the devil expected the angel to walk away,
She did the opposite.
She started picking pieces of the gum
Out of his hair & started removing
Some off his face.
The devil snarled and offered the angel
Some of the gum he had in his pocket
When the angel received the gun
She winked revealing the needle
She used to pop his bubble

Some people are like chewing gum,
The more you ignore them..
They will stick to You more..
