মহাদেবের প্রতি আসিফার ভক্তি আরো গাঢ় হতে দেখে পণ্ডিতরা আসিফার এখানে আসা নিষিদ্ধ করলেন। রাতের আঁধারে আসিফা শিবপুজো করতে আসতো। কয়েকদিন পর মহাদেবের মূর্তির সামনেই ওর লাশ পাওয়া গেলো। আসিফার 'রক্তের দাগ' মহাদেবের মূর্তিতেও দেখা যাচ্ছিল। ভগবান ও ভক্ত - দুজনই চুকিয়েছিলো সেদিন ধর্মের নৃশংস দাম!
