She is a phenomenal woman,
Her hair so lustrous, her lips so luscious.

She is a phenomenal woman,
Her eyes so bright, her skin so light.

She is a phenomenal woman,
Her back so straight, her stride so right.

She is a phenomenal woman,
Her heart so pure, her love a cure.

She is a phenomenal woman,
Her mind so sharp, her voice a harp.

She is a phenomenal woman,
For she lives in my imagination..

You and I,
We've come so far,
The first time ever I saw your face,
Under dim lights of that shady bar.

And look at us now,
Left behind without a thought,
Tried every poison to silence the heart,
But bleed it will and drown me out.

You wonder about our story,
I found a flower, dry and wilted,
Quenched her thirst from my fount of love,
Watched her blossom as my heart melted.

Hid her for as long as I could,
Yet success found her, gripped her,
And went to her head, so soon,
I found myself pushed away further.

Now there's no You and I,
Just a You and somewhere an I...

Life is not just a game,
It's more like a reality show.

Life is not just a valley of flowers,
It's more like a bed of roses with thorns.

Life is not just a journey,
It's more like an expedition.

Life is not just black or white,
It's more like the myriad shades of grey.

I Am Home,
When I find meaning to life,
There's a kind face to call wife,
And little angels of my own.

I Am Home,
I ventured into troubled waters,
Dealt with most complex matters,
And docked my little boat safely ashore.

I Am Home,
This tiny piece of land,
The hut fashioned by hand,
Here my soul may rest in peace.

I have lived and loved,
traveled and explored,
Made friends and spurned foes,
Cried with joy and laughed at woes.

And at the end of this little poem,
I am finally Home.

A thousand burning lamps
couldn't warm his cold heart.

The years hadn't been kind and
the monsters in his head wouldn't part.

Humans, humans everywhere,
Yet not a soul to care,

Solitude amongst the masses,
Machines saving you hassles.

A place so devoid of emotion,
Steel and glass observing your every motion,

Suffocation abounds and artificiality thrives.

With a sigh I realise it's time to board,
And bid farewell to this temporary abode,

Soar through the skies I will,
But trusting in another's skill.

Wake me up,
as we begin to understand each other.

Wake me up,
as the shroud over my conscience clears.

Wake me up,
as the stitches mending my heart heal.

Wake me up, oh dear one,
when you are truly awake.

A muddy road leads yonder,
I stand at the checkpoint and ponder.

Beyond lies the call of a new life,
My past gently cleaved with a knife.

The edifice looms in the distance,
An army of workers in varied stance.

An airport carved into a mountain side,
Lush green valleys on the other side.

A flurry of activity in the mid morning sun,
Men atop huge machines or at a run.

Into this chaos walk I with pen to do as I please,
Yet strangely feeling a sense of perfect peace.

I close my eyes and picture what is to be,
The words and visuals dancing as far as I can see.

Angels have fallen,
And walk among us brethren,

Demons have risen,
Enslaving our thoughts in a prison,

Battle of the ages dawns,
We men but mere pawns,

Angels and Demons shall fight,
And what is to be said of our plight,

Truth be told, we are not free,
For these wars rage in our minds' tree.

To Find Yourself,
they said I had to lose myself.

So I sold my house and car,
gave away my money and traveled far.

I grew my hair out long,
and coloured my beard which just felt so wrong.

My love decided enough was enough,
and said "To hell with you", which was rough.

I guess I took their words far too literal,
And now I'm just the fool for being visceral.
