I pray for new leaders in Nigeria, after the order of David, Moses, Esther, Deborah, Nehemiah, Joseph and Daniel. I pray for Prophets in Nigeria after the order of Elijah, Elisha, Joshua, Jeremiah. I pray for youth in Nigeria after the order of Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego. To redeem Nigeria from every form of reproach and give her the true independence we have never had.

The past few days,
Have knocked us up both ways.
It all began well, things were so dope,
Then they struck and snatched our hope.

It's been dark days and hard times,
People were made to witness heinous crimes.
Many lost their friends and loved ones,
To our leader's cruelty and hired guns.

Some many are struggling emotionally,
Others are wounded and down mentally.
This is when we need to be each other's strength,
Help your friends and neighbors gather their breath.

Encourage the weak and oppressed,
Check up regularly on the depressed.
Extend a hand of fellowship,
Give a hug in friendship.

Take this from me; it will be alright,
Weeping only endures for the night.
This gloom and darkness will not dwell,
For even in the well; all is well.

To those who are black and blue,
May the grace of God see you through.
To those who mourn,
Hold on for just around the corner, is the break of dawn.

They are like graven images,
Their ears hears no plea.
The people have no worth,
Before those whose votes made them Kings.
They are clothed in costly clothings,
Deception is the scepter of their judgement,
They are like graven images,
Who have ears but hears no plea.

They sound their drums of warfare,
Military against civilians,
They care not for the masses welfare,
With greed they rule extensively.
They keep the people in darkness,
Take away the people's social amenities,
Yet they drive the vans around and demand for nepa bills.
These men are like graven images.
Their ears hears no plea.
These men are like big motionless statues,
They care not for a human being.

Do we say we have a country?
Do we say we have a government?
Do we say we are a people?
What is the need for parliaments?
To your tents O Nigeria,
The flag has no grace,
Neither the anthem, any meaning,
Her people are killed,
And their blood flows out with curses in her mother tongue.
Yet they are like graven images,
Their ears hears no plea.

Now the day bleeds into nightfall,
My heroes bleeds into darkness,
Massacred by our vicious leaders,
They kill our visions, they bury our hopes,
They deprive us our fundamental rights leaving us with nothing but agony and pain.

Now the day bleeds, Nigeria bleeds pain,
Our leaders breeds corruption and inject it into the system and no one to intercede,
They never concede to there misdeeds,
Our visions recedes and to live is over the odds.

Motherland has been watered with the son's blood,
We are going under and no one to save us,
We keep screaming for help but no one to hear us,
This is really driving us crazy.
Hell is empty the demons are now governing our Nation.

Who made you the hunters of your own brothers,
Why did you add to your record, terror and murder?
You used to be our saviours, heroes and protectors.
After these massacres, you became our tormentors.
When did your own people become so afraid of you?
Why does your presence brings fears and the blues?
Never will we sing praise of your deeds and exploits.
Now you are just mere tools for politicians to exploit.
You sold your conscience to our coward governments,
And have committed grave crimes against the helpless.
Know that in the end, justice will and must be gotten
And the ideas we die for will never ever be forgotten.
