अचरज है कि भूल गई तुम या तुमको यह ज्ञान नहीं,
अक्टूबर'४७ के बर्बतम महीने का तुमको क्या भान नहीं,
जम्मू व कश्मीर पर महाराजा हरि सिंह का था स्वतंत्र प्रभार,
जब कश्मीर के उरी क्षेत्र से किया पाक नें छुप कर वार,
पाक सेना के जवानों ने कबायली भेष धरकर की लूटमार,
महाराजा को तब लगानी पड़ी भारतीय सेना से रक्षा की गुहार,
स्वेच्छा से उन्होंने १९४७ में विलय के दस्तावेज पर संधि करी,
तुरंत भारतीय सेना की टुकड़ी श्रीनगर हवाईपट्टी आन खड़ी,
मेजर सोमनाथ शर्मा के नेतृत्व में 'ओल्ड एयरफील्ड' युद्ध लड़ा,
उनके अदम्य साहस के लिए उन्हें प्रथम परम वीर चक्र मिला,
इधर पाक सेना का जारी था रूह कंपा देने वाला नरसंहार,
तीन रोज़ सोपोर रूक किया हर स्त्री,बच्ची व मरीज़ का बलात्कार

A REAL STORY:PARTING GIFT
She was sitting completely numb on the hospital bed. In the matter of minutes her whole world came crashing. The dreams, the hope, the plans that were woven from last seven months were crushed into pieces. The reality was so harsh that she could not accept it. Was it a nightmare! Tha doctor's words,"SHE WILL ABORT" were hammering through her mind. What! How is it possible? There must have been a mistake. Any ray of hope, any change of opinion. But NO! She was finding it hard to collect the broken pieces of her heart. The kicking, the fluttering, the somersault that she had felt in her womb until recently came to screeching halt.
