seeing her constant sneezing & coughing
to her surprise, the not-so-friendly boss

as hard as she tried to rub her face with
her scarf as much as to look spick and span
glancing at her red eyes & enlarged dark circles
her colleagues couldn't help enquiring "gosh!
what a mess. haven't you slept yesterday? "
while it was frustrating her profusely
as to how on earth the timely intake of
anti-allergen & correct application of such
expensive concealer couldn't cover up for her,
a message popped up & it read "dear,
last night your voice sounded quite heavy.
I couldn't sleep. were you crying or what?"
the sender of the text appeared as "Mom".-

Time flies and we all have grown up
any retrospection gives goosebumps
how we've stuck together for so long,
was it the bonding? or the habit?
well, we don't know for sure. Do we ?
How the madness around me or you,
your delusion & my over confidence,
your dissent vs my trailing ego
were beautifully balanced out by
the unfailing compassion and the
absolute faith we have for each
other in the face of uncalled situations
If the endless gossips and the countless
memories made under the sun and
the moon may testify "I can count on
you and you can count on me"
let's just cherish that
