‘Shubham, send me a picture of your trophy, I want to get it printed - send back and front properly’
‘Huh? Papa why would you print a photo of the trophy’
‘I want to put it in your education file, I have a record of all your awards, it will be consistent’
‘Ok…’

I was wearing my jacket, about to leave my piano class.
‘Thank you Dilyan, I’ll see you next Sunday’

He said, ‘Shubs.. i want you to know that the song you’re learning to play..it may not be perfect..but what you’re doing is very special. Anyone can get flowers or cakes, very few get someone learning a song for them’

He said it like he meant it, not something to make me happy.
I blushed. In that moment, I did not care whether my effort would move someone’s heart or not.

Dilyan felt what i felt, and that was enough :)

Saroj got married today. She’s been cooking at our home for 10 years - since she was 15.

I remember when it was my sister’s wedding, I had applied Mehandi on my hands and couldn’t eat - she fed me dinner with her hands. When everyone would rush to have chicken on our family dinners, she would secretly cook a simple yellow dal for me, thinking, Shubhi didi kya khayengi.
When everyone would be busy with makeups, she knew I would struggle - she would straighten my hair, tie my pins, help me with makeup and even drop a compliment to make me happy.
Cute heart :)

Today is her day, I called her to congratulate. She kept saying, ‘Shubhi didi hall mein network nahi araha..’

I couldn’t say - Saroj, I hope you looked nice today, am happy for you today :)

Madhu started using Snapchat.
‘you dont see my snaps shubhu..’

For a second, I wanted to tell her ‘Madhu who uses snapchat these days?’

But I didn’t want to break her heart.
‘I promise I will see them’, I switched on the notifications for Snapchat.

Now I receive notifications from everyone, but Madhu.

Last night, 2 am Madhu sent a picture of her dinner.
I got excited, quickly sent her a heart.

my way of saying, ‘i saw it, i keep my promises to you’ :)
