When people make you feel inadequate for ‘taking too much time’ to heal or label you as a ‘victim’ as you travel through your healing journey, remind yourself that:
When you heal, you are fighting off decades of embedded generational trauma. You’re unlearning parts of yourself that you no longer identify with or the parts that were glued on to you, when you had no choice but to adapt to it, in order to survive. You’re re-imagining your foundational core that was perhaps built up in your childhood. You’re stepping into a completely unknown territory for the very first time.
Doing the work of years in months is not an overnight job.
~you are re-building and that is a very brave thing to do
I hope that you meet the kind of people who (whether they stay in your life, or not) don’t dim the light, the sunshine, the aura, the smile of your soul, spirit and your heart.
