As the colors of Holi fill the air,
I think back to a time so fair,
Three years ago, I returned home,
Excited to be back, I did roam.
A sophomore then, college was grand,
Best days of my life, all unplanned,
Seven days home, then back to Delhi,
But no one knew what was to tally.
COVID-19 came, lockdowns aplenty,
The seven days became a month's plenty,
Time passed by, and college went online,
No one knew what was to be mine.
The supposed visit turned permanent,
I didn't know, it was not apparent,
The dearest hostel life ended that day,
And now, it's been three years since I went away.
Sophomore to graduate, all online,
The engineering course, no more mine,
A software engineer now, I am,
Looking back at the time that ran.
Paths of time lead to the present,
Looking back, I see it was all meant,
Life takes its course, all unpredictable,
With twists and turns, so unshakeable.
As I celebrate Holi once more,
I think of the time that went before,
The past is gone, the future unknown,
Live in the present, seeds are sown.-
