Since ages, every single day
I've been ripped apart
Chopped into pieces
Burnt into ashes
Amidst the silence of the darkness

Yet I'm born again
To slaughter your ego
To thrash every rule you've made
To keep my head high
To look straight into your eyes
So that you could realise
That I won't bend.

I envy those eyes
That can catch a glimpse of your face
Every now and then
Those ears that are fortunate to hear you speak.

I envy those hands
Having the privilege to touch you
To hold you
Those fingers allowed to run through your hair.

I envy the breeze that kisses you gently
The sun's ray glistening your face
Those water drops that settle on your lips
Those books you hold in your hand.

Oh! Is there any way I could express
My eagerness to have all such privileges
To count myself among those you love
Or is it just a far fetched dream
That would never come true?

How fortunate are those pencils
Of graphite and charcoal
Which casted your impression
That canvas holding your elegance
That paper on which you write your verses
That pen resting on your finger.

Hold my hand
We'll go to a distant land
Where Earth adorns itself in white
Like a newly wedded bride

Where the rivers are born
Nature breathes
Silence sings for the trees to make merry.

Where Fortune makes love with Peace
Seconds last for eternity
A place as magnificent as the Elysian Fields
Where shedding the exhaustion
By your side I could sleep peacefully.

Dear DELHI

How often I've thought of leaving this place,
how often I've wished for your generosity and affections,
how often I've dreamt of getting lost in your lanes
to find a new direction,
how often I've yearned to be in your arms.
And now when I'm about to receive your attentions,
I feel quite distressed,
a strange anxiety is conquering and plundering my peace.
Don't you think, my dear,
that my regards for you have been altered.
No! That's certainly not the case.

What scares me,
I believe, is the jubilation
that my heart is overwhelmed with.
It is gigantic, inordinate and overpowering.....
.....

With love

I could witness the Silence
Preying over the flesh of my words
And my dear Pen groaning with pain.
While those white sheets
Make a mockery of my chivalrous hands,
All I could do is to beg the Silence
To have mercy on my tongue.

I seek for you...

I seek for you...
In the prayers of the Priest
In the sonnets of Milton and Browning,
In the fictions of Austen
And quotes of Rumi.

I seek for you
In the complexity of Language
In the words that fill the dictionaries,
The ink
That flows through my pen
In the lines
That I compose and sing.

I asked her name
She said, "Freedom"
Her bright blue eyes had depth,
Her smile, incredible
Dressed in a simple white cloak
She reflected the image of an Angel.
She held my hand and
Said in a voice filled with affection
"Let those weeds die, stop watering them."
