This year holi will celebrate
HOMECOMING with blush personified as colours on bumpy cheeks

But we don't rhyme.

To the tantrums of my head
Otherwise every other while,
I lose because I follow my heart.

You survive on half baked lies
And on days with no moon
You go on a trek to seek the truth
With a dim torchlight.

The insecure hours of a lonely night
Whipped in the hugs
Of a hand-woven quilt
Wiping sore eyes
Before the morning alarm excites.

-

Followed by the nightmares
That crawls up my neck
To breathe in me a jiff of
Haunted air.

A sea of empathy
On the banks of compassion.

-

Carry forward a conversation
That doesn't end
Without a 'maybe' or 'almost'.

-

It's crackers roaring out in the sky
For everyone but I don't know
What to do with the silence
That is scratching
my throat down.
