Sparrow - A Poem.

In the hedgerows and the meadows,
Where the grasses sway and bend,
There's a tiny bird that flutters,
On its wings that never end.

The sparrow, with its coat of brown,
And the voice so sweet and clear,
Is a creature of the wild,
That's cherished far and near.

It flits and dances through the air,
With grace that's hard to match,
And though it may be small in size,
Its spirit is hard to catch.

For in that tiny bird there lies,
A will to live and strive,
That never fails to inspire,
And keeps it ever alive.

So though it may seem unremarkable,
This sparrow with its wings,
It's a symbol of resilience,
And the joy that nature brings.

And if we take the time to watch,
And listen to its song,
We'll find a world of wonder,
That's been there all along.

There once was a man from Peru,
Who had a peculiar thing he'd do
He'd dance on one leg,
While holding an egg
And he'd do it with a smile, too.

His friends thought he was quite mad,
But he was the happiest they'd ever had,
He'd dance day and night,
Until the morning light,
and his energy never seemed to be bad.

One day, he put on a show
And everyone came to watch him go,
He danced and he swayed
and the crowd was amazed,
As he balanced the egg on his toe.

From that day on, he was a star,
People came from near and far,
To see his amazing feat,
and watch him move his feet,
he was loved for being who he was, bizarre.

शराब सी रातों में महताब नहीं
चुपचाप सी बातों में एहसास नहीं
बेज़ार सी होकर रहती है ज़िंदगी
जिन दो आंखों में कोई ख़्वाब नहीं

दो चार पैसों के वास्ते धोखा दिया ख़ाली पीली
अहम रिश्तों का आलू चोखा किया ख़ाली पीली

भाजी चार आने का, गैस बनता है आठ आने का
सेहत ने नम अश्कों से गिला किया ख़ाली पीली

दुकान के बाहर छोले भटूरे वालो की है लाइन
मैदा खिलाकर पेट का भरता बनाया ख़ाली पीली

करोड़ों के मकान में रहकर भी मिला नहीं चैन
बादलों ने फटाक से फिरकी लिया ख़ाली पीली

कभी महंगा है आम तो कभी दर्जी की कैंची
फटे पतलून में रजकर एड किया ख़ाली पीली

ख़्याल तेरा, ज़िक्र तेरा मौसम बन बदलता रहा
आशिकों की गली का पता किया ख़ाली पीली

फ़िल्मों को लोग अगर देखने नहीं भी जाते हैं
तो भी करोड़ों का कारोबार किया ख़ाली पीली

फ़ोन पर दुनिया और दिखाते निठल्लों की मौज
इतना महंगा वाईफाई क्यों दिलाया ख़ाली पीली

Change is inevitable,
So life is always editable,
create ideas palatable
to have an
experience creditable.

हवाओं से की थी गुज़ारिश, दिखाऊं क्या?
फिज़ाओं ने की थी परस्तिश, दिखाऊं क्या?
दोनों बाहें खोल ख़ुद को दी थोड़ी नसीहत
कि मेरे आसमां की जुंबिश दिखाऊं क्या?

// जब सोएंगे तो बहुत कुछ पाएंगे
जब सोते रहेंगे तो जरूर खोएंगे
जब खोएंगे तो ज़रूर रोएंगे
और जब रोएंगे तो याद करेंगे
फिर से उन पलों को,
उन अल्फाज़ को,
उन साथियों को,
उन मौकों को,
जिनकों हम अपना बना सकते थे
पर किसी वजह से
वे बीत गए, छूट गए या रह गए
और वह वजह सिर्फ इतनी थी
कि हम थोड़े आलसी रह गए //

आयी है पुकार मां के दरबार से,
भक्तों को टोली उमड़ी है हर कोने से,
माता के आशीर्वाद से सबकी हो भलाई,
आप सबको नवरात्रि की अनेक बधाई

लोग कहते हैं हमें यूं कि सरकशी कम नहीं करना,
फ़लक़ तक रौशन होंगे, चांद हमारा ग़म नहीं करना
