Passing cars
Flickering bikes
Street lights
A window blind.

Snowstorm on the rooftop
And a whirlpool inside
Breath out, of the lungs
Longing by the side

Eyes searching,
For a face,
Trouble in disguise,
Love lost, on the way,
By the roadside.

A city familiar,
So cold,
So distant within,
A home along the way,
Where my caged love,
Lives in.

The fallen leaves
And broken dreams
Crumble loudly beneath the feet
And the sound reverberates through
And hangs in
The air

The air which you breathe,
The air which I breathe.

It's dark,
And the air heavy,
Weighing us down,
Until we are on all fours,
Gasping for oxygen.

Whose feet were they, again?
Your or mine?

The air is warmer than before,
But still cold enough to prevent the heart from melting,
Softer than before,
But crisp enough to keep the edges intact.

The days are more mundane than before,
But still filled with a hopeful hopelessness,
Like a river the eyes flow sometimes,
And sometimes they gleam, like pebbles in a stream.

Love, is more tired than before,
Silent but still waiting,
Coursing through the being,
Dead, but still alive.

Come, unsettle with me.
Sit beside and press the rewind button,
Just to torment me.

Untie the knot in my hands,
But not my throat,
And pull it from an end,
Creating waves in the sea,
And I, a helpless boat.

Come, erase the words,
Before I safely tuck them away,
And slowly start moving farther
On your own uncharted way.

I know you go through the same hell as me,
But still choose not to stay,
Not to be here,
So before you go,
Come, unsettle with me,
Just for old time's sake,
Together.

The water drops
A bunny hops,
The grass is green pristine,
The sky is blue,
The AC cool,
Welcome to a summer dream.

The break has started,
The spirits are high,
The temperature is too,
But there's watermelon sweet,
And cold ice cream,
So let's rejoice, just me and you.

And then the eyes, they open,
And the dream gets broken,
Welcome to reality,
The dusty hands,
The sweaty back,
A chair,
And computer screen.

A heart beats fast in the sea,
Floats and sinks and floats up again,
Far from peace, never at ease,
Struggles to survive, gasping for air.

A soul gets pushed,
From eye to eye,
Gaze to gaze,
The sole object of attention,
A captive in a cage.

A mind gets stormed,
With winds of thoughts and gales of consciousness,
Varying in severity,
Wrecking the ship, until the sea finally ends.

The sea finally ends,
Giving way to hope,
Disguised as four walls and a roof,
Finally, welcome back home.

isn't something to be found by panning oceans and climbing mountains.

It lies in the palm of your hand, and the spirit of your soul.

in the inevitability and imperishability of things. Because like the sun, some things, people, memory, stay forever. Sometimes visible, sometimes hidden, they contantly watch us and care for us, and like the sun, though far away and out of reach, always help us grow.

Sleep is hard to come. It's 6 am right now. Sunlight streams in, lighting up my room. I raise my hands, once again to see if light could reveal what the dark so deftly hid.

I raise it high, straining my eyes, my being.

But it's gone, just like you.

It was when I was overwhelmed with anxiety of not being able to fix us. It was when the knowledge that whatever I do doesn't help, that tomorrow comes a morning where you won't be there, weighed heavily on me. It was then that I decided to stretch my hand towards the surface of water, even if it meant taking help. That's when for me, I became more important than us. Because I couldn't live anymore in my bubble of fake promise that everything will be fine. And then, just like that, I decided to break free.
