They use what they know about you, your emotions, needs and desires, to create a grand illusion which they may use to control you. They will first make you believe that they love you. Then, when you see that they don't, they will create the feeling that there is hope that they will change. And finally, they create the feeling in you of hopelessness that you will ever be able to move on. This was not an accident or the natural result of a failed relationship. With a manipulator, it is always planned and executed by a master mind, someone who knows you better than you know yourself.
