But vaccines were developed, hope now is near

Russia and Ukraine at war, tensions ran high
Sanctions and disputes, the conflict didn't die
Brexit finalization, the UK now on its own
Leaving the EU, a new path it has shown

The Black Lives Matter, gained momentum and power
Protesting racial injustice, in that darkest of hours
Natural disasters struck, from fires to hurricanes
Leaving destruction on the way, causing countless pains

The economy struggled, layoffs were widespread
Leaving many uncertain, and somewhat afraid
ChatGPT AI caused a stir, making big news
But we'll learn to adapt, taking the cues

Yet through it all, we persevered and we fought
Finding ways to adjust, to heal and reset thoughts
We kept trying...finding new ways to thrive
Though the path was bumpy, we kept our drive

Let's say goodbye to 2022, with gratitude and grace
And embrace the future, with a smile upon our face
And now we welcome 2023, with open arms and heart
A new year, a new chance, to make a fresh start :)
