For my situation to improve

For my efforts to bear fruit

Hoping that I might be recognised
Hoping that I finally become "someone"
Hoping to see the tiniest ounce of success

I have waited for so long
That you might be proud of me
That you think I'm actually good
That you would acknowledge me

I have waited for self-growth
I have waited for accomplishment
I have waited for joy and contentment
I have waited for what seems like forever

I now wonder, will my wait
Ever come to an end?
Will I ever find fulfilment?
Or must I keep waiting even more?
