I have been tossing and turning in my bed.
The stars and dew filled grass became my friends.
Sleep ran from me, but I chased it relentlessly.
Took my shoes off walked back and forth in the midst of night, fireflies were my guide.

I carried a heavy heart, only myself to blame.
I have passed the light house night after night, a journey down memory lane.
Lifted my head about to explain, all too quick my tongue became numb with pain.

Tears rushed down my rosy cheeks,
another night where orchestra camped out in my brain,
one symphony after another they played.

Familiarity filled my nostrils,
I stretched my hand out, morning glory opened up and the sun touched my soul.
I waited for that smell, diffused into my body, oh baby! You set my mind at ease.

Quilted, puffed and soft, in you I have confidence, you always braced my fall.
The stars and dew filled grass I bid you farewell.
