It takes courage to be the rebel, the misfit
in a world that celebrates those who confirm
without questioning.

But some of us don't know any other way to be!
Freedom is not always a choice, it's a
compulsive addiction for us.

The society will have you believe it's hard to love a strong independent woman.

When in fact the hardest part is finding a man
who doesn't measure his masculinity
in oppressing women.

No, it was never about them.
It always was
and will always be about me.
I'm one with the sunflowers
because I chose them.

And others, they only see
what they seek from me.
They don't get to choose
which flower I decide to be today,
or the rest of tomorrows.

For I own my life
and I don't owe it anyone!
