The pain is excruciating, as the scars of 1984 are still fresh, and now we bear witness to the plight of women in Manipur, enduring unimaginable suffering. It's heart-wrenching to see how women, time and again, find themselves as the targets of heinous acts. The stories shared by my North Eastern friends leave me shattered – their sudden homelessness, abandoning everything they knew just to escape the clutches of violence and oppression. The anguish in their voices, the tears in their eyes, echo in my soul, and it feels like an endless torrent of sorrow crashing upon my heart. Being a woman, my heart bleeds with each painful account, and my soul weeps for the injustice and cruelty inflicted upon them. It is a stark reminder of the urgent need for change, for a world where women are cherished, protected, and free from such torment🙏😭
