The Illusion of Being Special

They taught you young, what you must aim
To chase a dream, and stake a claim.
To stand apart, to shine so bright,
To be the rarest, clearest light.

But what it means to be special,
Convoluted Joy of one-upmanship
To have what others do not own,
To sit upon a deceptive throne

A perverted pleasure in others’ lack,
A fragile joy that turns heart black.
What is gained when hearts compete,
Endless longings incomplete

The ego whispers, “Rise above,
Outshine, outdo, demand their love.”
Yet in this race to be the best,
The soul is lost, denied its rest.

Peace is not in standing apart for long,
But to see oneness and take everyone along.
To view the world, sans rank sans race,
But countless forms of boundless grace.

Not less not more just as you are,
A spark within the cosmic star.
No need to tower, no need to shine,
For all are sacred, all divine.

A blessed soul is one who realizes and relishes what he has and isn’t bothered or affected at all by what he doesn’t have.
Whereas technically a cursed one is someone whose realizations are vice versa. He doesn’t realize what he has, and is completely engrossed in what he lacks.
And there are the others in between realizing both the worlds of what they have and what they don’t, Their quality of life is the outcome of their perceived abundance and lack.

बेदाग गोरापन और निखरा रूप है उसका

तो बंदा गया लड़की देखने
वाक़ई सच में गोरी है छोरी
पर फिर उसको काला तिल दिखा
बेदाग फिर ये कैसा हुआ?

ख़ैर खोट उस लड़की में नहीं
उस बन्दे की नज़रों में थी
जहाँ सारी दुनिया को गोरापन दिखा
वहाँ उस बंदे को ही काला तिल नज़र आया

I have seen people rich and successful
Inspiring perhaps but Very Ordinary
It’s because success has gotten
Into their heads!!

Got married two years ago..
But, Alas!! No child to show
It's not that she hadn’t tried
But all miscarried, none survived
Each day, is a struggle to cope
But keeps going on, can’t lose hope
The pain and trauma she goes through
Prays to GOD, “give me one, when you can give
others two!!”
And when "well-wishers" say, "Family Planning
still on!!"
She dies inside, but smiles and moves on
