A missile , a whistling sound buzzes
Accelerates and it's speed surpasses
Piercing shriek as it descends
To a second of silence and it restarts....
A dark night with a few stars
What lies ahead is no one's guess
The siren sounds and feet scampers
Some may find a few trenches
Next day casualties are statistics.

A newly wed shelves his honeymoon dreams
Annual leave cut short and Papa returns
Little boy can feel the tension around
Parents appear strong and hold the fort
Hidden tears in every eyes
A prayer on every lips...

Every night when I lie on my bed soft and warm
I owe it all to our bravehearts in the uniform!!

Usha to some, Dombe Madam to many
Ma'am was an epitome of love and sincerity
Knowledge of banking was so ingrained in her
Selfless and untiring was her passion to share
All of us novices trained by her are ever grateful
She taught and made each of us feel so capable
The few years we worked alongside at Hadapsar
Laid the foundation for a friendship together
Has taken us beyond banking -into our families
A strong foundation laid by her eventually.
Ninth January twenty twenty- five
A date to reckon with.....
Few of us visited her, frail she was, yet that smile
Took us back ages , the time spent worthwhile
Bid her bye with hugs and planned to meet again
Little did we know that was the last good bye
Our beloved Dombe Ma'am is on the other shore
Where there is no pain and sickness anymore.
We will miss you dear Ma'am
May your soul rest in peace.

Slipped into his father's boots

The toy gun slipped off his shoulder
