I'm somewhere new
And yet somewhat old
I'm an old story but
In a language untold
I have my own new sky
With the same old wings
I am watching the old sun set
Living the new day it brings
I know not much of around
Inside I know so much more
I sing a new tune now
With the old voice gone sore
I made my new home
In an old house by the sea
In this somewhere new
I am somehow more me

I temember the first time I learnt
How far away our sun burnt
And how we travel around it every year
Sometimes far, sometimes near
But what fascinated me more was the way
At the same time, the world has both night and day
How amazing that at a time someone rises from bed
Is also the time for me to go to sleep instead
And so weird that inspite of the day giving into the night
I am always caught in an internal fight
The sun may rise and make it day for half of you
For all of me, for all the time, that's not true
The sun and I don't see eye to eye
It comes and goes, but the night never says bye

We may not have a lifetime together
We still get to have a forever

You're an English language lesson
A lesson in antonyms
For who else could teach me
Patience and impatience in distance
Who else could make me selfish and selfless in love
Where else would I find home and be homeless
Who else could I be bound to and free with
To breathe easy and lose breath over
To dive deep and fly high with
You're an English language lesson
A lesson in antonyms
For who else could be mine and still not be
For who else could not be mine and still be

One day soon
I'll say too much
And the weight of those words
Will fall on you
You won't be able to bear it
And one day soon
When I'll say too much
You'll walk away

Or

One day soon
I'll not say anything
And the weight of the silence
Will fall on me
You'll be able to hear it
And one day soon
When I won't say anything
I'll walk away

Rumi said
"Out beyond the ideas of wrongdoing
And rightdoing there is a field
I'll meet you there"
There was a time it would comfort me
The promise of a world beyond this
An alternate universe
A different timeline
Our universe
Our timeline

But Rumi gave very non specific directions
I'm surrounded by ideas of wrongdoing
And rightdoing
They are every where
What I should do
What I'm supposed to do
What I'm expected to do
And what not to also
I can't see the edge of this, Rumi
So, where do I turn
Where is the board for this "field"

He must be waiting for me there
I'm running late
I may not get there

His love doesn't shout out loud
It's gentle whispers of "I'm here" when I can't sleep
His love isn't a tornado or a whirlpool
It's what epitomizes "still waters run deep"
His love doesn't consume me whole
It's what sets me free to fly
His love doesn't hold me back
It's what let's me go and try
His love is like the sun and I'm the moon
But he will tell you I'm an entire constellation
Sometimes I believe him
Most times I don't
But I do know this
If I'm a constellation
I was always there, shining
He's the Galileo who found me

You constantly fight battles
I'm the war you willingly lose
You are always putting out fires
I'm the active volcano you choose
You are building dams on rugged rivers
I'm the tsunami sweeping you away
You're lighting up your nights
I'm the eclipse of your days
You run sprints all the time
I'm your never ending marathon
You watch may flies die
I'm the phoenix reborn
You seek silence around you
I'm the cacophony in your mind
You fast forward every tape
Me, you constantly rewind
You look for some solitude
I, alone, make up a crowd
You walk on solid ground always
With me, you float on a cloud
You built a home to come back to
I'm your favorite hotel for staycation
You question every thing with curiosity
I'm your favorite riddle with no explanation
You embrace what's yours
Look after it with all your heart
You give every right to whoever is yours
From them, you never stay apart
I'm not yours to embrace
Your heart knows mine
I have no right to you
You're still with me all the time

There will be days you'll be more than you are
And days you'll be less
There will be days you'll shout from rooftops
And days in secret you'll confess
Some days you'll be hidden from view
Some days out and about
Some days you'll be sure as the sun that shines
Some days you'll be a doubt
You'll be happy most of the time, most days
Or unhappy without knowing why
You'll be determined most battles, most ways
Or being unwilling to even to try
You'll be all colours of the rainbow
And all shades of grey too
You'll be lost in a crowd, or be a whole crowd
Whatever you are
You are wonderfully
Unapologetically
YOU

My God loves me so much
He wants me to learn all kinds of love
So He sends me lessons from above
I don't know how He will test my lessons
But I believe He will know when I'm done
Or else this pain would have gone by now
I want to graduate His class somehow
