#WE ALL BLEED THE SAME COLOUR.
I woke up to the sad news hovering all around;
I sought for tears after what I saw, but none could be found.
I thought we were all blacks; why the killings?
Brothers killing brothers...that's appalling!
Being blacks, we're all supposed to be on the same team;
To be strong together through thick and thin.
But I was so wrong to think that in my head;
I wonder why some find joy in seeing people dead.
Your eyes have been adjusted to seeing only your nationality;
You play with guns and knives like thieves-without pity!
But during apartheid, your citizens were once in a different country;
Now you segregate fellow blacks like they're from a different colony.
I'm pained seeing my people being slaughtered;
My heart bleeds; I'm grieved and shattered.
The xenophobic attacks make tears to drip down my eyes;
Many innocent immigrants are being killed, forgetting the good ties.
These innocent immigrants are treated like criminals;
No respect for humans anymore, they slaughter them like animals.
We come for peace, but then, we only witness war after war;
But at the end of the day, WE ALL BLEED THE SAME COLOUR.
