একটা সুস্থ, স্বাভাবিক জীবন কাটানোর জন্য যেগুলো অপ্রয়োজনীয় কিংবা খুবই কম প্রয়োজনীয়, সেইগুলো আমাদের সবার কাছেই আছে - যেমন মোবাইল ফোনে নষ্ট করার মতো সময়, অন্যের সাথে তুলনা করে নিজের জীবনে অকারণ দুঃখ বাড়িয়ে তোলার মানসিকতা, অথবা সামান্যতেই মাথা গরম করে ফেলার প্রবণতা ইত্যাদি; আর উল্টোদিকে যেগুলো ভীষণভাবে প্রয়োজনীয় - যেমন (প্রকৃত) শিক্ষা, ধৈর্য্য, সহানুভূতিশীলতা, রুচিবোধ - সেইগুলো বেশীরভাগ মানুষের মধ্যেই অনুপস্থিত!
