The vecisitudes of the raging sea of life couldn't drown her,
Because the stillness in her heart and the determination in her mind were indistructable.

You came into my life like the rush of a mighty wind,
You took my breath away like a feather beneath my chin.

You made me smile from ear to ear,
You eased my sorrow by wiping all my tears.

You charmed me by your chivalry and valour,
You swept my heart right off the floor.

You held my hand through the darkest days,
You held my soul in the most affectionate way.

You vowed to stay forever mine,
You chose to be my lasting wine.

Today on this most amazing day,
I vow to be yours each and every day.

The storms of life can't bring us down,
We'd sail through each of them like dusk before dawn.

And when they couldn't understand what she was made of,
She realised it was pointless trying to prove her worth,
She was in competition with no one but herself and her wavering thoughts,
Disregarding the cruel talks.

A rare diagnosis,
A prolonged illness,
A mountain of pain,
A constant nightmare.

'What could be done?' they asked
'Will she survive?' they gasped
'We're unsure' came the revelation
Hearts broken, constant tribulation.

'She will be absolutely fine' she said
'You're being naive' they said
'You'll see' she replied
Resting all her hopes, she tried.

Days seemed long,
Nights even harder,
But she set her foot strong,
Even when the voices in her head were louder.

Her patience bore the ripest fruit,
When she saw her smile after ages,
Her eyes gleamed after beating a disease so acute,
And was finally set free from the shackles of her cages.

The thought of loneliness and isolation terrified and liberated her.

Expectations are gateways to disappointments.

Little did she know, forever was subject to his terms and conditions.

These insecurities come to visit me every night,
Leaving my heart, broken
And my mind, paralyzed.

Hello, there. It's been a rough day again, right?

You woke up to a heart wrenching realization that you'd have to make through another day with zero motivation.

You tried your best to cook up a valid excuse to skip work and lie in bed all day, didn't you?

You scrolled through your social media feeling absolutely miserable about your life, didn't you?

You felt your heart sink while you saw people having the time of their lives while your felt like an unlovable mess, didn't you?

You set your wall up high, didn't you?

You screamed silently in pain, didn't you?

You tried not to hate yourself but the temptation was compellingly strong, wasn't it?

It was hard. It still is.
