The week wraps up on Friday Eve,
Weekly accounts settled,
What to forget and whom to forgive.

It is easy to ignore,
Even easier to forget,
What? Whom?
People, friends, acquaintances.
But it requires effort to remember,
Even some more effort to call, to text or ping or to drop by,
Why?
To ask, to enquire or just to say a Hi!

Nature always chooses the optimum,
And so do us.
But taking an extra step - makes the difference,
Whether you are just an ape?
Or an ape with the Human's cape!

ऐतबार चाहते थे,
एहसान नहीं।
बाहों का आसरा चाहते थे,
दिखावे का संग नहीं।

~~নববর্ষ~~
আজকাল কষ্ট পেলে
আর শব্দের আশ্রয় খুঁজি না।
চোখের জল ও সঙ্গ ছেড়েছে,
মান, অপমান, রাগ, অভিমান, অভিযোগ ও -
আজ ধুলো পরে যাওয়া কিছু স্মৃতিমাত্র।
অনুভূতিরা হয়তো মৃত।
না কি আমি আজ প্রাজ্ঞ?
না কি এতটাই বাস্তববাদী -
যে শুধু বাস্তবের একটা মুহূর্ত ছাড়া আর
কোনো কিছু নিয়েই আমি আর চিন্তিত বা উৎকণ্ঠিত নই?
উত্তর নেই আমার কাছে।
খুঁজতেও চাইছি না আর।
বেঁচে থাকাটাই আজ সৌভাগ্যে,
কালকের খোঁজ রাখছি না তাই আর।
রাগ, অভিমান, মান, অপমান,
বঞ্চনা, তাচ্ছিল্য আর কোনো কিছুই যেনো
এ মনে দাগ না কাটে,
নতুন বছরের শুরুতে এটাই কামনা আমার।

আজ মনখারাপের মেঘের আনাগোনা,
তোমায় দেখতে চাওয়ার,
ছুঁতে পারার ইচ্ছেরা আজ ভীষণ আনমনা।
সময় যাচ্ছে চলে নিজের গতিপথে,
শুধু বাড়িয়ে দিয়ে তেষ্টা -
তোমার সাথে খুঁজতে পারা,
মেঘের কোণে আলোর দিশা,
তারার দেশে, সাথে থাকার - বৈধ ভিসা।
সময় যাচ্ছে বয়ে, বাড়ছে মেঘের ঘনঘটা,
খানিক পরে পড়বে ঝরে - ছাপিয়ে দুকূল,
মনের অববাহিকা,
এমনিভাবেই কাটবে কি দিন, মাস, বছরের
অন্তহীন প্রবাহিকা?

यह कह के - "तुम आजाद हो, बस पंख फैलाओ"।
और मैं जो तेरे आगोश में एक घर की तलाश में थी,
फिर खुदको बेघर पाई।
कैसे समझाऊं तुझे की -
कई बार आसमान भी कम पढ़ता है,
एक मुकम्मल दुनिया बनाने से,
और कभी आजादी भी चुभती है ज्यादा,
बंधे होने से।

Standing there, if you can see,
Was once one who people said to be wise.
But, the more she put her trust in people,
Or the more she helped those in need,
The more she spread her warmth around,
And the more she embraced people with love and without any conditions,
The same people who revered her as wise,
Now points a finger at her and calls her - the fool.
Confused she is - Is she?

I would show gratitude to everyone I met, even for once and all those who surround me now,
For in many conspicuous and inconspicuous ways they have made my stay beautiful and meaningful.

And I will apologize to all who I have hurt knowingly, unknowingly or have taken for granted , never realising how short lived I am to hold grudges, or to blame or ignore, or to expect that things will change for better, one fine day.

And in my last breath, I will only utter and feel - the one emotion - that never felt enough, whether to give or to receive, Love.

প্রতিদিন ভাবি তোমার থেকে নিজেকে
সরিয়ে নেবো - দূরে, আরো দূরে,
কিন্তু পারি কই?
সকাল বেলার তন্দ্রা জুড়ে শুধু তোমার আসা যাওয়া,
সারাদিনের ব্যস্ততাতেও বারবার ফোনে চোখ রাখা,
হয়তো তোমার একটা মেসেজ,
কিম্বা, বাজলো বুঝি এই -
শুধু তোমার জন্য আলাদা করা সেই রিংটোন,
বিকেলবেলা ক্লান্ত চোখেও
তোমায় একটি বার দেখার জন্য ইচ্ছে ভীষণ,
তাই তো তোমার ছবি - জুড়ে আমার মুঠোফোন,
মাঝরাতের স্বপ্নেই শেষে আমার তোমায় আলিঙ্গন।

এভাবে তোমায় নিয়ে ভাবা,
তোমায় নিজের করে পেতে চাওয়া,
সবার কাছেই অশোভন,
কারণ তুমি অন্য কারোর,
আর আমার এ ভালোবাসা?
নিষিদ্ধ, পরকীয়া।

"Is it that easy to move on? The times, the moments, the feelings, emotions everything that we shared together, the memories that we created, are they so volatile?"
"No matter how much you cry and crib about, remember nothing is gonna change the reality and that is the relationship is over. Please find out the other beauties of life, explore the unexplored areas of your own self and stay open to new possibilities. That what is gone is gone. Trying to hold onto a moving vehicle which is in no mood to stop and allow you to alight, you will only end up in an accident. In life you cannot always get what you want. But, rest assured that you will definitely get what you deserve. Possibly something that you even unable to dream about now!"
