Princess

On Monday I was able to see a puppy
Princess is her name , and she's a dog
I gave her some bacon biscuits
She ate them all up, that's not odd

I snapped her photo several times
Most pictures were not too good
I did manage a few that are okay
She kept turning and would move

What a cute, tiny little canine she is
Always full of energy and excitement
A good friend once she knows you
Ready to defend in any predicament

Nothing

Sprinkle the pepper on the eggs
Paint the fence a bright white
Throw a party with several kegs
Make your belt snug and tight

Braid the long hair that's pretty
Kick the ball down the field
Eat some tacos that are spicy
Up ahead that sign says yield

Drink the water from the hose
Knit a blanket to keep warm
Walk around on your tippy toes
Sneak up and blow your horn

Tie the laces on the work shoes
Grip the bat for a good swing
Pull the weeds up high and loose
This poem isn't about anything

Just roll it

Rain has fell to the ground
Sounds of water flowing by
Into the sewers underneath
On this dark and cloudy night

A couple people walk on past
To wherever they are headed
Almost midnight right now
I should be asleep in my bed

My friend playing a game
We are both having a smoke
Soon I will light up the joint
Puff Puff, we'll have a toke

Weed doesn't take your mind away
It takes you away with your mind
If you want to relax good one day
Grab it, roll it, light it, puff it , unwind

The rain is falling tonight
It falls heavier at times
The grass will grow nice
The flowers will bloom fine

Cars and trucks pass often
Splashing the water below
Rolling to the next destination
I hope they will all drive slow

As I stated in the first verse
It reminded me of some photos
I took some new pictures
Tulips that I will soon post

Red yellow and orange ones
Across the street by the sign
Freshly laid soil has been done
And that is the end of this rhyme

Rebound

When life has you down
When you feel like a clown
When you fall to the ground
Get yourself ready to rebound

If the climb seems to high
If the task makes you sigh
If all you want to do is cry
Be prepared for you to fly

Sad at the bottom of the pit
Mad you want to throw a fit
Angry need something to hit
This is when you get your grit

Withdrawn and you are silent
Calm and you remain vigilant
Alone your last breath spent
You got this , you are resilient

It's after eleven

It's after eleven at night
Having a coffee and cigarette
The streetlights are bright
Night creatures all congregate

Noises in the grass outside
Bugs and small mammals too
Some to my left that hide
Others to my right maybe a few

The sound of the crickets
I can hear some in the distance
Out in the bush and thickets
Their chirps are very consistent

The sounds of the darkness
Many different cracks and creaks
Engines revving the fastest
The gasoline smell really reeks

Sensual motions you display

Grass moves
Night crawlers
Out of view
Creatures smaller

Cars pass
Headlights bright
Burning gas
Cruising tonight

Cold air
Settling around
Take care
Going inside now

Some daze


Some days I lose myself in you
Sometimes I fall right over my feet
Some of the time it's my tongue I trip on
And then I must take a seat

Often I find myself daydreaming of you
Caught in the moment with no control
It seems visions of you permeate out of my eyes
I am convinced and you have me sold

Sudden chills race up and down my spine
Goosebumps raise all over my body
My heart sputters and flutters wildly
But the energy I enjoy quite nicely

If I could capture this feeling forever
Remember it for this life and beyond
That's all I would ever need then
I would be happy after I am gone
