NO MAN'S LAND

I was warned and well informed
Heard the endless stories
Threatened beforehand
Oh! The forbidden land.

Yet, Curiosity led me there
Felt powerful, alive and free
As the world clearly blurred
I was naive and twenty three.

Slowly, It consumed me
Senses didn't sense anymore
I was angry because I thought
They'd love me back for sure.

It was painful and unbearable
I would feel weak and cry
All that strength vanished
Why did I even try?

It's hard to be loved and harder to love
As it's usually disguised and rare
It teaches passion and kindness
But surely one must dare.

Now I collect all the broken pieces
Of my heart as it heals
For a return to that warm sand
Oh! Indeed the forbidden land.

MY PERSON

Like the first breeze of air
Upon opening up of windows
Like the warmth on the skin
After melting flakes of white snow

Calming down my chaos
On relatively peaceful days
Like a puppy wagging it's tail
Like a blue packet of lays.

I see you in my dreams
Almost every other night
Then wake up with a smile
With a feeling just right.
I look at the time and
The past reality hits me
I was miserable and hopeless
How could you not see?
Your ignorance kept stabbing
As I bled tears
Even with all the lies
I would've stayed for years.
My alarm rings suddenly
For water, reaches my hand
Grateful that was just a story
Written on the sand.

Woke up to a loud thud
On my window glass pane
As a bird kept flapping
It's feathers insane

Where do you come from?
Where do you go?
Fly away to the Blue sky
I'd say so

Soon joins another one
A warm blooded fight I see
Is it for food? Is it for home?
Or the love which sets them free?

I met him in the midst
Of a ghosted road, one night
He walked quite dramatic
Straight away from a staged fight

An acquaintance yet a stranger
Should I smile or frown?
He waved while I was lost
In his locks of golden brown

Ah! A dog ran abruptly
He bent down to pet
My feet turned warm
From the embarassment set

My mind instructed, run away
But somehow I still stood
My heart grew warmer
The tiny tail wiggle felt so good

A man with his best friend?
No one would disagree
Out in the road at night
It's the best thing to see

When you're a person who
gives away too much
You get disappointed when they reciprocate
even at their ordinary best as such

JUNE

It's June. There's an arrogant tree
At the end of the lane free
Of visitors, birds and flies
No friends but still never tries

It's June. There's a little boy
At the shop to buy his favourite toy
From far hears the ice-cream bell
Runs for mango and strawberry gel

As he walks down the lane
Stops under shade as his legs pain
And spots a squirrel under the tree
So, it's June. No one's ever free

Namesake

A dried up flower in the vase
At the corner of the house
I exist for namesake
As the existence is purely fake

Cried for months for water
Begged for care and eat better
As for death now I wait
Though still a flower till date

Not angry but disappointed
In what I got appointed
As I exist for namesake
And the existence is purely fake.

As I move out of the line
Why don't you magically shine?
