I wanted to be a doctor,
As doctors cure the pain,
But they could not bring my friend,
Back to life again.

I wanted to be a poet,
As good words are so rare,
But when I recited my poetry,
Those words vanished in air.

I wanted to be a pilot,
And keep flying high above,
Saw a flock of birds and thought,
It's their flight that I love.

I wanted to be a teacher,
And teach all day and night,
But those who cannot afford to learn,
Can I be their guiding light?

I wanted to be a musician,
And sing those forgotten songs,
But who will know what I hid within them,
The stories that went wrong.

I wanted to be a scientist,
And explore the mysteries around,
But can my thoughts go faster than,
The speed of light and sound.

I woke up from these thoughts,
As my mom rung my bells,
'be a good human first', she said.
Then only anything else.

I will lend you my ears,
When you have a story to tell,
Of being through hell,
And I will try to,
Put myself in your shoes,
For what you are going through,
Should not break you,
And I will lend you my ears,
So that you put down that knife,
And cling on to life,
We all have been there sometime,
No better or so much worse,
And when everything will reverse,
You will be grateful,
That you didn’t give up.

'What do you do for a living?'
'Well, I laugh..I love..I play music..I travel.'
'But how do you pay your bills?'
'You said "living" right?'

They found solace in money.
He found solace in music.
They both were obsessed with 'notes'.
