A normal day it must have been
With the customary smile and greeting
Welcoming on-board all those entered
As they walked joyfully or lazily sauntered
Helping with a smile, their motto
Beneath which they conceal their sorrow
'Twas monotony everytime
But with zeal they carried on in every climb
They guide and coax for a safe flight
Never dither even if going is not bright
Assure each the comfort during travel
Unknown what fate may unravel
Bidding farewell to the closest
With assured promises to be back
As, having traversed across the world
The churns inside were no more told
Who knew what happened would be the last
Be it the promises or their return to life that was cast
All that remained was nothing but mangled worries
For those living with their sweet memories-
Change is such way of life
Which heralds in both glee or strife
Only thing plausible
Something so inevitable,
Leaving behind that past
Which were there to last,
For a moment life mars
As the heart's inflicted with infinite scars,
When abundance is reduced to few
Around in the world thats new,
Becomes so hard to deal
As life suddenly comes to a standstill,
Staring into nothingness
Reminiscing the blissfulness
Look forward for that comfort
Where life eased, no matter it's a hug or retort
With those who know you inside out
And accepts you sans a doubt.

The night is dark and long,
With cricket's chirping all along,
Squeaking bamboo groves in the wind,
Holding each other with eyes blind,
The hooting owl adds to the eerie,
When world sleeps trusting the BSF sentry,
Creepy sounds never dithered him,
Nor did the haunting shadows,
Emerging from the shrubs behind,
And the trees ahead,
Holding the rifle by its sling,
The battle hardened softly sings,
His lass may be waiting for his sight,
By the side of the road he last went,
But eyes rolling beyond his sight could see,
His mind alert and free,
Shoot to kill he has been trained,
Nothing less when challenged,
By the outrageous adversary,
Ready for whatever necessary.

Way beyond they seem from the inside,
As you gaze from the flight's window side;
In shapes and sizes you’ve never fathomed,
They exist beyond what you've ever imagined,
While gazing up from the earth,
With wild thoughts, since senses took birth,
You must have shuddered at the thundering,
And winced at the lightning’s crackling,
But nothing compares to what I’ve known,
When every pore longed to be home,
The sudden drops and the shudderings,
The shrieks and the quiet aftermath, stomach's flutterings,
A sound that’s still endlessly ringing,
Long after my mind stopped thinking,
Of the turmoil and uncertainty,
That awaited when left to nature’s mercy.

Aimlessly I trudged along the path,
Which we had sauntered with euphoric hearts,
But now 'tis melancholy inside and outside,
As you're far away from my side,
So gleefully I had returned from my day's tasks,
Waiting to tell everything that you ask,
To shed my worries and fall asleep in your hug,
But alas! Everything seemed irritatingly smug,
When void stared at me and I into emptiness,
The moment I fathomed my loneliness,
As everything around me had your touch,
About which I couldn't ever do much,
To lessen my sorrow, today or tomorrow.-
Loving you, an experience so true,
As fresh as morning's dew,
Pristine and transparent to its core,
Making me crave for more;
Like these pristine drops that dried up slowly,
As the day progressed gradually,
Love too waned and became redundant,
When love you found elsewhere in abundance;
You forsook one standing by your side,
To love another who was just a passing tide,
An idea that felt like 'twas affection,
But whose deceit made you lament in aversion,
Love would have bloomed
With the one who'd have ne'er left you marooned.-
Why can't life be easy and complete,
For every soul aspiring to achieve it;
In finding solutions to problems at hand,
For a life without having to compromise or bend,
The nurtured hopes and aspirations,
So painstakingly built with determinations;
Why is life so hard with challenges new,
For those who feel these more than the few,
When nothing adds up to life's beckonings,
And neither finds its reckonings,
When against the tide every inch is to be moved,
And a slight push feels as if shoved;
Will there be hope beyond the horizon?
Or to darkness sojourn?-
The world wove a tale of her life,
Assigning words to her calm as well as strife;
Her emotions now trapped in sundry pages,
By those running after fame since ages;
Wary that bitter truth seldom sells,
They cull these, lest they fail,
With the half-told truths her story unveils,
In chapters which unfolds only rosy tales;
The cover she adorns with a smiling countenance,
Her eulogy crafted beautifully in these pages;
A reflection of what 'tis in reality,
A life with those living enmeshed in frivolity.-
Blisfully they glide away from the snickets,
As they swoon past the dales and thickets,
Kissing the canopy of blue,
Soar higher and higher enjoying their freedom true;
Their chirping dinning clamor of the realm below,
Where they too had drifted in its throes,
But faint to them seemed from above,
Those in the midst of moments so tough;
Envy these winged forms,
So endowed to elude life's storms,
Though surreal realm this,
But worth living this fleeting life in peace.-
Children splashed in red and blue,
Frolicking through streets stained in different hues;
Colouring every soul passing their paths,
Making those wary of aftermath fear their wrath;
While teens decked up so elegantly,
Try to hide their innocence playfully,
But the colourful armosphere and vibrancy in the air
Put their restraints in the bare;
The rest immersed now in watching their joy,
Reminisces the past when 'twas pure fun they enjoyed,
So pure and fun filled has been this festival of colours,
That every generation will have a tale of joy to tell the others.-
