31 बरस तक निकल गयी है जिंदगी, अगर और भी हुई तो जी लेंगे।
मगर अब जो जीयेंगे वो पूरे दम खम से जिएंगे।
आगे के 11 बरस भी पिछले इकत्तीस पर भारी पड़ेंगे।
अब हम और उर्जावानित होकर लड़ेंगे।

Thirty plus years


We've been friends thirty-plus years
We have always stayed in touch
We have learned of our fears
I think you have had too much

Moving and relocating for both
We always kept our contact
Each experienced new growth
Maybe it was our silent pact

You've had children , as did I
We'd give our lives for them
Relationships that made us cry
Partners we'd like to condemn

We've had an assortment of jobs
Some took us away from family
A few described as sweatshops
But we survived them thankfully

The year twenty twenty-four it now is
A long time to have known someone
I am glad to be your friend miss
Our friendship isn't matched by anyone

At times, I feel I am ten thousand years old 🤣

"Twenty-five years ago [in 1990's], when we had a black and white TV and there was no internet, YouTube, Netflix, etc., we had to wait an entire week to watch a Bollywood movie on the Doordarshan channel. The movie would begin at 11:30 PM. The challenge for a young man back then was to watch that one movie and then discuss it with friends and cousins the following days. Now, the challenge for a young man is to ignore bad movies, immoral posts and videos on social media as well as harmful information floating freely around."
