Viscosity

Words said right
and letters that were left,
the aftertaste of a clove
and coffee foam on top lip,
mother's annoying habits
and last monsoon with grandma,
the last dab of dhaniya chutney
and the first empty stomach to bed,
unbuttoned shirts
and the creases
from the tight hold of a pillion
be it the lover or the little niece,
laughs that lingered longer
and the silence that followed.

These, like fireworks,
come with momentary explosions,
dazzles and aches,
giving a sense of liberation
with light, noise, smoke and confetti
making us glad that we were there,
making us glad that we stayed..

The viscosity of my thoughts is not governed by Newton's law.

The moisture in the air,
weather not the source;
friction, kinetic & smooth,
flesh, pliant & coarse.
Air gets thicker,
flames groove to keen desire;
viscous trench warfare,
sweet barbed wire .

All that I ask
is to let me bask
in your ungentle rain
smudging the crimson stain
stamped on my lips
slurping the philtre drips
tightening the passion noose
with your viscous ooze
limitless zest
minimal rest
once again we start
with my sharpened dart
hope we maintain this trend
with lust, our straightforward friend.

The unpolished dreams transform one to a night hunter , trying to conclude those semi-circles to viscous ones...

Drenched in the sweetness
of your salty waves,
swirled by the centripetal force
of your viscous whirlpool,
thirst quenched by your milky wake
on an immaculate empyrean journey,
I lie, happily drained,
a grateful satellite in your amatory orbit.

I showered in the monsoon,
emanating from your wet triangle ;
darting tongue meeting liquid flames,
philtre vapours, viscous condensate,
a perennial surging wave source ;
I ride the surf home.
