Difference between generation at time of Mahabharata & generation of our time.

Today I was watching Maharashtra at Doordarshan in today's episode of Draupadi's clothes stripping in this episode Duryodhan said to Dushasan to go & drag Draupadi by holding her hair in relation Draupadi was his sister in law(bhabhi), after that he ordered to strip her clothes, Vidur who is his uncle opposed Duryodhan order Duryodhan insulted Vidur. Everybody was seat there his teacher, his great grandfather, his father, his maternal uncle but nobody stoped Duryodhan do so & tell him first learn to respect your elders.
Think if these things happened when we are in school or college if we insulted our sister in law (bhabhi) or our uncle so what is the scenerio? First our uncle , then our father, then our mother, then our teacher & our brother all of them slaps us to do so & we don't have dare to do anything to them.
The main difference between that time & time now is that time prince, students & son was not beaten if they were beaten as we they also don't have dare to do such things.So moral is that is anybody do wrong thing beat that person properly so that person don't have dare to do again.
